question ref selectrac dash light not working
I was in 4LO Parttime on my muddy right-of-way when a fallen branch kicked up and got jammed under the cross member and around transmission. Drove a halfmile further with it dragging before I could find a dry spot to pull over and get it out. While driving that distance the dashlight showing parttime went dark. I assume the stick winding around the case tore a connection loose. I use parttime/fulltime options a lot and rely on that light for visual cue. I know I can choose my transfer case selection by the indications on the tunnel and by feel but I miss that indicator.
So, the question is before I start crawling underneath again: can I assume I pulled off a wire off a sensor or solenoid? And where does it attach? Advice?
Thanks.

Crawl under and look. Always start with a visual. Wed have to do the same thing in your situation. Find the shift linkage at the front of the case and look just above that. Sticks and what not would have a hard time getting up there tho, imo, as it has to get around the front shaft, and the linkage.
