Quick fix for liftgate handle....?

Quick fix for liftgate handle....?
Does anyone have any suggestions for a lift-gate handle always being a P.O.S (piece of ****). Any ideas to fix it without purchasing a new one??

What is it that your lift gate handle is or sin't doing? Is it stuck in the locked position? You could get the handle gutd out of a donor XJ in your local junkyard. I'm positive that would be your cheapest course of action. Once you open your latch up a little bit. It might just be an easy fix, like a piece of linkage loose or something like that.

Well, if you don't want to pay some mechanic a fortune then you are back to trying to fix it yourself. Take it apart. Look inside and work the handle. See what parts are moving and what parts aren't moving. You broken piece is most likely the first part in the linkage that isn't moving. It's a pretty simple handle.
