quick fuel pump question
okay im getting a fuel pump for my jeep due to a bad check valve. will this pump replace that check valve? also does it replace every part of the whole fuel pump assembly like the regulator, filter, and what not? or should i buy some other parts along with this as well while the tanks down?

What year is your xj? That valve would be included in the fuel pump assembly. I'm assuming your xj is post '96 since you are dropping the tank to get to the pump. The pump includes everything (the pressure regulator, the sending unit, etc) so there isn't anything you would need to do other than the pump itself

My first choice is Bosch when it comes to fuel pumps. More expensive, but worth it. Carter is my second choice.

You can purchase just the pump motor itself or the entire assembly. If you purchase the assembly it will include new checkvalves. If you only need a check valve I would look for a way to replace just that. Its only a rubber washer, metal washer, and a spring. Kinda hard to pay $200+ just for that.

If one component on the assembly is failing, murphy's law is the failure of another component on that assembly may not be far behind.....
