quick fuel pump question

Bosch fuel pump from NAPA part number N67658. Includes the housing, pump fuel level float and sensor , pre-filter, post filter and check valve. $318.00
Filter and check valve mounts on top of the pump and is replaceable. I think they have them at Summit Racing.
I had the same check valve failure in my 98 at 175,000 mi and I replaced the whole Bosch pump assy because I only wanted to do the job once. Good thing. The pre- filter was loose in the tank and the fuel level sender was badly corroded and ready to fail.
While I had the tank down, I replaced the shocks. It was easier to drill out the broken upper shock bolts with the tank down. Before I put everything back together, I wire brushed and rustoleumed everything I could reach--floor pan, rear axle etc.

Fuel Pump Assy - (Electric In-Tank Type) - Actual MFG OEM $219.00 plus Shipping and Handling
Hmmm... Guess I paid too much for mine, but I was able to pick it up 1/2 hour away and inspect it before I bought it.
I have my own way of rustproofing. It's a pain in the *****, but worth the effort. All my running gear is black Rust Oleum cut with acetone and applied vigorusly with a stiff brush. Floor pans the same with light color (blue or grey). This helps reflect the light so I can see what I'm doing when I work on the underside of the Jeep. Of course clean and grind off all the rust you can before you paint.

I spent $318 for mine. The listing I gave you is for a 2000 XJ 4.0 liter 6 cylinder. Mine is a 98. They are different part numbers.
Can't see the link you posted, but I can still get the one I posted. Call the phone number on the link and verify your correct part number and price. By the way there are 6 NAPA stores about 40 Mi east of Tampa if you want to run for the part. Just call ahead , like I said and verify the correct part # and price. Make sure the store has your pump in stock.

Update---Original install 175,000 miles. 2 years later at 205,000 miles the pump still is working with no problems. I will have to drop the tank before February as the gasket has failed and fuel is leaking around the gasket with a full tank. Also am pulling a check engine light with code Large Evap Emissions System Leak.
