Question **QUICK HELP PLZ**Can Bolts from Seat to Floor be Replaced?

My seat bracket was broke in the rear so I have to change it out. I am in the middle of working on it and the front two bolts are rusted so bad they need to be cut off. I see where they come out the bottom of the floor board. My question is if I cut these off can they be replaced?...not that I have many options left.

If they can be replaced can anyone tell me a supplier?...or these just regular bolts I can get from anywhere? (The carpet is still on so I do not know if these are some type of "special" bolts or what.)

Thanks!

...and yes yes I am still a newb at these XJ's.

Well I'm not really sure how these are in there, but one option would probably be to weld a bolt from the bottom to the floor? Just an idea.

That is probably what I will end up doing. Got all off and out but one. Can not get it off and my garage time ran out so I will have to keep at it this weekend. I did discover I have less floor than I thought.

+1. My son and I just finished putting seats from '09 Tahoe in his '86 military Blazer. With a little fabricating skill and the right tools, there's no limit to what can be done.

I thought about doing that too. It would have to go forward because of the way my frame is designed. The current bolt that is "stuck" is close to the end of the flange that comes off the frame.

Just cut the bolt off, clear the carpet away from the area, drill the broke bolt out, then replace with a new bolt. If there is a nut on the other side knock iy out with a air hammer/ or a punch and hammer.

I have been doing all of that...trust me...ugh. I gave up on drilling after it took forever just to make a dent. I am probably just going to have to keep at it with the drill, now that I have cut as much as possible away.

Thanks for all the tips everyone!...now I just wish I could get back at it

Start with a small bit..1/8" or so and keep stepping up in sizes until you can get at least a 5/16" bolt through the hole, 3/8' would be better. Then just use washer and nut under the floor pan.
