If that filter were to plug up on the inside, crank-case pressure might get high from blow-by. (past pistons). Then it will try to leak anywhere it can. Push up the dipstick, front and rear seals, ect. It'll run down and look like a Rear Main seal. Then it blows back on to the exhaust pipe where it crosses behind the bell housing. It might burn on that and make you look like a comet with a trail. No prob. You just cut a piece of aluminum trailer siding and wire it so the oil doesn't hit the pipe. (carry a piece or cardboard in case you want to park). (makes great fire starter once soaked). Mine vents OK.

Ha! I meant cardboard w/oil makes good starter in the wood stove.

Anyway, no pressure in the Crankcase keeps it from trying to leak.

On that front vent? no I don't think so, unless it drips oily goo. Idk, on a new engine it might actually suck IN there. My blow-by isn't bad for 273K, but it will get worse soon enough! Next time I have my valve cover off I'll do Cruisers valve cover Mod. Unless I'm doing an autopsy.

Cool doesnt seem to drip anything
