It is possible to squeeze 31" tires on a Stock XJ but they are going to rub on the fender flares while turning on pavement. If you tried to offroad them you will likely have huge issues in the front.

If you still want to run stock height and 31 tires, you can make a lot more clearance in the front by modifying the wheel well and ditching the flares or relocating the flares.

Decent 1" wheel spacers and Cragar Soft 8's or any other steel wheel. You can decrease the backspacing on the new wheel which will push it out further. Sexiness achieved.

You all have to remember BassHead is into the thumping stereo scene, and the 17x9 go with that. 99.9999% wont like what he wants to do. If he wants a mall crawlin, ghetto slamin Jeep, more power to him. Pimp that b*tch out.

BassHead, I would head down to somewhere like Discount tire or such and talk to them. Those are nice looking rims IMO.
