wheeling and driving with a set of quality shocks is insanely better than ****ty cheap ones, but since you and I have had this argument more than once, I'll quit here and simply lawl to myself bc you think you know better.
I don't recall and arguement about shocks. You sure it wasn't about being disconnected all the time lol.

I love a good arguement every now and then.

When did you have RC shocks and what kind were they... for what size lift. That could be the difference

i dig my RC Nitros. mucho stability on road, especially since i lack swaybars. Ride is decently stiff, handles the bumps awesome.

Hmmm maybe that is why I like my ride with out the front sway bar. Atleast I will know when the shock goes out LOL.

HHHHMMMM.......$1000 for shocks...UM....I'm thinking no!! Unless I'm entering a Jeep Speed or Baja 1000 event. For daily driving and crawling around on tight Jeep trails like I do. I'll stick with the cheapest shock that will match the amount of suspension travel my Jeep has.

actually, there is a HUGE difference when crawling and DDing. lots more stability (and control) on road. ya know when you drop off a rock and the jeep is like MUUHHHHHHH and give nice wag? when I put the 5150s on, that was gone. drop off a rock and the jeep stays put solid, no extra bounce, jounce or any other gheyness.

honestly, its one of the best things i've done for my jeep.

Interesting, when you put it that way. "gheyness"...LOL...great job of sidestepping the mods. I love it!! And you said that you installed Bilstein 5150s, right? I was looking at a set of those a few days ago.

im running 5150s, theyre the same as 5125s cept with a small resi and slighty larger piston and internals. if you dont need the resi the 5125s save you like 20 bucks per shock

look for deals like I did....when great sales happen and you can get nice shocks for 1/4 the price, DO IT regardless of how new your shocks are. after that, you will swear by them.

hell, my mom doesn't b*^ch any more about ride quality (if/when I let her use it for hauling perrenials etc.), and my back doesn't complain either...it's an amazing and satisfying difference.

completely agreed. I got my edelbrock remote's for $69/each and free shipping...they're normally $225 each plus shipping. they had a great sale going on, or I would have never experienced the awesome ride that nice shocks provide.

I now swear by high quality shocks, and taking EVERY precaution to safeguard their function (bumpstops, limiting straps, etc.) to protect my awesome investment.

RC shocks were stiff, and rode like crap with the sway bar on. my gearing/tire combo (4.10/33x10.50) allows me to still use it on the interstate...I would NOT want to go on the interstate swabarless....and w/o sway bar is the only time I felt RC shocks were any good.

All I got to say at 12.50 a shock RC is nice. Not taking anything away from bilsteins every one knows they make a great shock but I am on a Jeep budget not a mercedes budget! And for 50 bucks I got decent shocks so that is my defense and no one can honestly argue with that if you are on a budget.

the deal on those ebrocks was INSANE. lots of my friends picked em up. theyre not as highly regarded as bilsteins, but theyre very good shocks and for that price youre stupid not to buy em if you needed em.

*shrug* if you want to put it that way...

they are crap in the shock world, and you can't argue with that. they are the quality of a $12.50/each shock, nothing more.

to anyone on a budget, buying GOOD shocks isn't really optional if you ever have passengers (significant other, children, other family members) and intend to not make them cringe when getting in it.

I firmly believe that RC shocks are a temporary shock. they go bad (frequently), have a bumpy ride (FACT), and are thus hell on your back.

I'm 22 and on my very limited income ($19-24k/year depending) I have managed to find enough good deals on parts to make it a quality ride, not side-stepping like fullsize owners do with body lifts.
