Ya sorry I wasn't totally sure of the name of it haha but i got those tools and everything and i tried all the different sizes and pushed them in as far as they would go and I could see that the little prongs inside were pushed aside far enough for it to come out and needless to say I tried just about everything to get it apart but to no avail, its just stuck I guess.

I was about to cut the whole metal section off and do the fix like you said but seeing as how this part of the line has never given me any trouble, im fine with leaving it like this. If there is any trouble in the future with it, it'll still be a really simple fix so I'm not worried about it

Quite often 10+ years of driving fills up that connection with dirt and gunk and the plastic tool doesn't stand a chance loosening things up. It's easiest then to cut the rubber portion of the hose and remove the radiator. Then get your self a replacement hose and connector from the parts store.

OP, how did this work out for you? I am also looking at a leak in transmission line near the radiator. PO did same maneuver as your pic (2 in or so rubber hose connector) but that "fix" is presently leaking on mine and causing me probs. I am shy to re-do it in the same manner, that's why I wonder how yours is working...

It's been working fine for me so far, no leaks or anything. I just went out and double checked it to be sure. I suppose I could be getting lucky with it but yeah no problems for me so far
