Just a Thought, Overflow should not be confused with overheating. What is the temps doing when this happens?

If the temp is climbing then yes you could have a problem with the airflow or the radiator itself being clogged up??

If the temp is not going up then something is creating pressure in the cooling system, Maybe justa bad cap, up to maybe a bad head gasket??

Yes i believe so. They'll look it up for you. They keep em behind the counter at autozone.Thats where i got mine, a stant with the pressure relief lever it was about 7 bones.

That is one thing I am working on, I have the dummy lights for now no temp guage. The light never came on, I did kinda test the temp switch, I unplugged it and started up and my check engine light came on but the temp light did not. I might have a burn out bulb I have not checked. Any way to test the light with having to pull the dash off?

The fluid coming out was not boiling hot or steam real bad.

I check the oil and it is clean and I just had an emmission test and passed. I have not seen any white smoke coming out of the exhaust. Also no bubbles in the Radiator when I start the engine.

all dash warning bulbs come on during the first few seconds of the ignition switch being on, its called a bulb check for exactly this purpose. my older mj has some bulbs that do a check during cranking also though. so you should be able to see the bulb during a bulb check

Doh!! I forget about that. If memory serves me right I pretty sure it works, what the switch just replace or can I test it?

Still Any body out there know if the shrouds for a 4 and 6 clyinder are the same?

you can test it, but its a long tedious process, measuring the resistance as the temperature changes. then you need to know what the specified values are to compare to your readings. they are cheap to replace

my mj has no gauges, and it drives me nuts, i'm installing mechanical temp, oil pressure, and voltage gauges asap.

I feel your pain, I will be replacing the cluster with gauges soon! I think it looks cleaner and about the same price as putting mechanical gauges in.

not to hijack, but whats involved in swapping to a cluster w/ gauges? the wiring isn't already in the harness is it? new sensors to right?

From what I have read it is pretty easy craigslist or ebay or JY. Find one that is in your year range like mine I think is 91-96 and weither or not you have an electric or cable speedometer. You will have to replace two sensors, Water Temp and Oil pressure. I think that is it I have a couple of links to write-ups on my home pc I can post them tonight for ya.

From what I can tell, as long as you get one from an 87-90(Cable driven speedo - 2nd cable design), it should work just fine.

Back to the org. topic Anyone know if the 4 and 6 cylinder shrouds are the same? I called a couple of JY in my area plenty of 6's no 4's.

I'm not positive but I don't think they're the same. The difference in the length of the engine would mean that they'd probably use a deeper shroud to make up the difference. Also, I seem to remember that 4 cyl's use a different radiator all together so I think the shroud would be totally different. If you go to radiatorbarn.com and look up a rad for your 93 cherokee and look at the 4cyl compared to 6cyl rads, they are different. You need to find one for the motor you have.
