Default Radiator & trans line replacement

I've seen a lot of controversy over the best radiator for the money.. I want one that is good quality and won't leak, and will last. Also i want to replace both of the lines running from my radiator to my transmission. Any personally experiences or directions I should go?

Everybody wants to buy "the best" whatever......if there truly was a best whatever, then there would be only one whatever as that one whatever would have put the other whatevers out of business due to folks only buying the best whatever. Obviously that's not the case because there r plenty of good whatevers out there.

FWIW, we replaced the OE Factory rad in our XJ 4+ years ago with a OE style Spectra Premium rad from AutoZone. About $110 with a lifetime warranty.

Do your radiator home work. The OE Factory rad is a very wide (1.25" thick), 1 row core design. Don't get duped with aftermarket advertising saying their rad is a 2 or 3 row design.......unless those aftermarket 2/3 row designs have cores that r 2 to 3 times thicker than the OE 1 row core.........I doubt they do.

thats actually the same rad I was looking at.. If you're having good luck with it I'll probably do that.

Advanceautoparts.com. Buy online and pick up in store. Use code TRT37 I think it is for 40 off 100. If that's not the right code, google them.

That's a dayum good price......the only problem I have with a mail order rad is if there is a warranty issue, I'd prefer to take it back to the local store, get a knew one under warranty and have the XJ back on the road the same day vs 7 to 10 days later.

The Spectra Premium CU1193 is a perfect "drop-in" fit. Zero, zip, nada mods.

Go through advance auto parts and get it for 60-70 with the codes. And if anything goes wrong you take it back in person

If your doing the radiator, go ahead and get a trans cooler. Chances are you'll mangle your old lines getting them off the side of the radiator. Plus it won't hurt anything by having it

Mangle old lines.......what?????? When we changed out our rad, tranny line disconnect/reconnect was a non-issue.

I'm in MN and the lines are pretty rusty, and i think original. I'm willing to bet they will twist off
