Default Radio Dimming

Recently my radio has been dimming when the base hits. I have and after market Pioneer radio with 2 50watt 6.5 speakers in the front doors 2 power acoustic 200watt 6.5 speakers in the soundbar I installed with the speaker wires ran from the wires for the under dash tweeters and 2 sony explode 160watt 5.25 speakers in the lift gate. I have been running this set up for a while and my radio began dimming with the bass earlier this week. Any ideas why this would start all the sudden. Nothing else but the radio dims even with the headlights and dash lights on.

Deteriorating power or ground connection to the radio, or inside the radio itself.

It was due to a failure of my head unit. Eventually the stereos' internal amp crapped out. I've been considering a passive amp which simply plugs into the speaker wiring behind the dash to compliment the head unit. This deal, made by Alpine, is supposed to HELP take the load off the head unit if yer only running your power amp for your sub.
I dunno, I've gotta buddy who has proven himself to be pretty sharp on this stuff, he is the one steering me on my Jeep hi-fi.
When I 1st showed him the lites dimming on my old stereo he told me I was pushing the unit too hard and I should wire ALL of my speakers thru the amp. I didn't go that route and my stereo got to where it would cut out at like 25, then 23,,18 ect. on the volume ****. I'm not pushing my new stereo very hard untill I either buy this small Alpine amp or re-wire the whole speaker system for another amp. I just hate the idea of an amp in the back cargo area, I all ready have one under the rear seat.

Thats what Im worried about is that the new radio is crapping out on me I am installing a 125w amp to push my 10in sub my brother gave me and really dont wanna have to redo all the wiring I just did for my speakers. Do you think it would help to remove the lift gate speakers all together? Should I go ahead and redo my power and ground wires? If yall dont know my jeep was flipped in an 8ft deep ditch that had 3ft of water in it but the water didnt get to the radio or anything related to it that I know of.
