Raditaor problem
I have a 1998 jeep Cherokee sport 4 door 4.0 v6 and I'm having a issue with the fluid in the radiator being rust color and I don't weather I should flush it out or just replace it

depends on how bad the rusty coolant is flushing is one way but if its real thick and pudding like a new rad and complete flush of cooling system is the best

If this is the original radiator, definitely replace it! The part isn't that expensive.
If it is newer, a thorough flush (with a citrus based flush product best) and refill.
Be sure concentration is at approx. 50-50 when you are done. Hydrometer tells the story there.

radiatorbarn.com is a good place to look for a replacement radiator. Everything from OEM to CSF three row.
While you are doing this, I'd also put in a NEW (not refurb) water pump.
For sure a new stat. I like stats from Jeep and the Stant SuperStat is a good one. 195 degree is the best for most applications.

You have to remove the thermo to flush the system the right way or its not worth doing. So the thermo is out replace it will a qaulity one and always check hose condition, when you replace lower rad hose make sure to reuse the spring in it,also you might as well replace water pump with a good hi flow model this does help with cooling (read article on pirate 4x4 website if need be) a good 2 or 3 row rad will also be good and a high flow thermostat housing wont hurt. Flush your heater core by itself also good luck.
