Rainwater in 97 Cherokee Sport passenger floor
Trying to help elder cousin w/no computer. Wont leak if parked w/nose uphill. Only wets right 1/3 floor area of carpet. Sill carpet is dry, behind kick panel is dry, firewall carpet is dry. Did same on driver side while under warranty, dealer fixed that but he don't remember what they did and don't want to tear into it to figure out how they did.

There's a good possibility it's the windshield leaking. Here's an article you may want to read.

Thanx, y'all. Methinks it has orig windshield, never been off-road. It's his wife's, not many miles, got easy life except for outside parking. I'll pass on all, he's in N. GA, I'm in W. TN. I'm thinking maybe leaf buildup but can't remember how cowl is made. Anybody experienced that?

Found my leaker...
I had a bad leak on the right side of my 95, turned out to be a body seam on the cowl, near the hood hinge. It had some sealing goop that had dried out, I pried it all off, and got some body sealing caulk from NAPA. It was important to clean all of the old goop off to see how large the seam turned out to be.

Over time those seals on the windshield can wear. Mine leaked on the driver side because of a gap under the weather seal. Don't use any kind of silicone though because that will cause rust in the windshield channel to form. Also try cleaning out the drain holes that are at both ends of the cowl. Debris can gather over time and not allow it to properly drain. Easiest way to get them clean is to remove the wipers, then the cowl, then run a hose into the corners and watch to see if it is draining out because of the pressure.
