Default Random Overheating and Misfire

About a month ago did a tune up on my 96 XJ Country 4.0. I got new plugs, wires, new cap and new rotor. I installed it all correctly and it ran fine. After that I cleaned out the Throttle body. I'd never done this before so I watched a few videos of the guys spray a ton of cleaner on the valve, down in the tb, and in the IAC port and then scrubbing. I did the same but I didn't use nearly as much cleaner. This might be the reason for the problem. After I got all that done (by the way my TB was disgusting, black as coal) I started it up and it had a high idle, 900-1100. But i didn't really think anything of it. My girlfriends dad who has a lot of mechanical experience told me that you're not supposed to do that you're supposed to just spray it on a rag and wipe because you can damage the sensors in there.

The next day or day after, I was in the Wendy's parking lot and my jeep overheated. I waited for like 20 minutes and drove home because I live down the street and it didn't smoke or overheat. I guess the overfill reservoir isnt backing up the rad because it's full as the day I bought it, bit the rad the thirty for coolant. It was also about a quart low on oil (rear main seal leaks) and I noticed smoke coming from the oil fill cap when I took it off. Not plumes or anything but a decent amount. After topping those off, and waiting for 10 minutes I started it and it ran fine and I went inside because it was about rain and dark. I don't have a lot of free time and I have another car so I just kind of pushed it to the side but now my other car is ****ting out, so now I'm back to my jeep. I've started up a few times since and the last 3 times it's had a mis. I don't run it long just long enough to get some fluids circulating for fear of damaging something.

IM guessing I ruined the IAC when I cleaned out the tb but I could be wrong. Ive triple checked that the wires are on the plug all the way, the plugs are tightened all the way, the firing order is right. But I could be wrong.

Also, I just replaced the tps which an oe napa throttle position sensor. Most of the parts are stock with 276k on them. Has CEL but last time I had it checked (before this) it was just emissions due to the previous owner installing long tube header, cat delete, and super 40. Haven't scanned since tho. Just want to get it fixed. Miss driving it. I hate my focus so much.

I don't think that the tb cleaning and your other problems are related, but it might be possible.

Here's what I'm thinking.
1) Check the radiator cap. The cap is what regulates pressure. Pressure gets too high, it relieves to the overflow. When it cools off and pressure drops, it allows coolant to be drawn back into the radiator. If it goes bad it'll allow free flow back and forth.
2) Do a compression test.
3) Get yourself an ELM327 Bluetooth scanner from AmazeBay and download the "car scanner" app.
