Default Re-attachment exhaust

I heard some strange noises at the rear and when I took a look,
I noticed that the strap that holds the exhaust broke.

I've wrapped with copper wire twice and the wire broke both times.

Can I fix the strap or do I have to replace it ?

I had the strap break on a couple of my jeeps. I made new straps out of stainless steel. I used a moto-tool to get rid of the old one and grind enough to get some bare metal to weld to. I used a stick welder but got the new strap to hold. I would also buy or make a ss muffler clamp.

There r all kinds of universal exhaust hangers available from just about any auto parts store....start there for +/-$5.

Anytime I replace my exhaust I have new hangers and the hardware installed at the same time, the muffler shops charge very little for this.

Thanks again.
I've noticed while hanging the wire that the higher you hang the exhaust, the better the
jeep will sound and accelerate.
I last hung it higher than when the strap held it.

This sounds good to me and all but it is safe ?
Will I risk ruining my exhaust or the engine ?

The movement in the pipe all the time increases the chance of that happening. Just take it in and have it fixed properly.
