HI..I am newbie, have had the wife's cherokee since new in 94.Developed an oil drip about 150,000 miles. Cleaned all & searched for any pos place it could be from many, many times. Finally about 195k it got worse. Cleaned all ,ran, watched & could not locate.Put some more miles on it & found it was leaking BEHIND the oil filter adaptor.Tried to remove with a #55 torx, finally got it off & found it really was a # 50 torx. Ordered new stem & O-ring kit,put together & no more leak!!It is a real pain to do but now no oil on carport floor..Also it is a 94 sport,4.0,auto,4x4,air & all..Now at 205k it is starting a different prob with shutting off on the road,I am reading up on the forum & will prob post questions another day..HTH..Wayne@#@**SORRY/sorry,,it takes a torx# 60.......

I'm gonna start with the distributor gasket and oil filter adapter seeing as how I'm hoping it isn't the rms anywho I was wondering though isn't the distributor the thing that holds all the spark plug wires?

Yessir that is correct. You can pick up a gasket at a local auto parts store. Like so:
