Default Rear Bumper Replacement

Hello All,
I got my rear bumper on my 1999 XJ smashed in pretty good. I need to get it replaced and was wondering if there are any aftermarket bumpers that would be a good replacement for the stock bumper? SInce I am replacing it, I wouldn't mind do a little bit of an upgrade, but my jeep is all stock so I don't need anything super heavy duty. I have a trailer hitch already and I think I would prefer to keep that on, but would be open to removing it if there is a highly recommended replacement that needs to remove it. Or should I just try to pull an OEM one from a junkyard?

Thanks,
HCL

What do you want in a rear bumper ? a stock look or off road look , one with a tire carrier and a trailer hook up ? and how much do you want to spend ?

There are tons of options out there, from mild to wild. Do some searching online and you'll find the problem is choosing which one. Pick a few you like, and then run your choices by us and people can chime in about quality, reputation, and the like.

I think more of a stock look. I have a trailer hitch already, so I don't I want to replace it with one with a built-in receiver that is more for luggage rack, bike rack, etc. I don't really have a budget, I was just thinking if there was something that was an upgrade from stock, now would be the time to do it. I am just not looking to go full off-road setup since the jeep is my daily driver and it is pretty much all stock.

Right now, I am thinking one of these which look pretty much like stock replacements. Does anybody have any experience or thoughts with either of these?

I was faced with the same option as the PO had taken the bumper off when I got the XJ. After pulling and installing parts to get the XJ back to "normal" , I thought I would replace the rear bumper. After looking and searching the net, I just pulled a stock one at the Upull it and put it on.
The reason was my XJ has a factory hitch and all I could find would add another hitch and I didn't want that...I also wanted to retain the plastic bumper "corners" and they attach to the bumper as well. I did not see any bumpers that could do a better job then the factory one...without overdoing it.

Maybe one day, if I lift my XJ and all that I will add a different bumper.....??....dunno.

I really liked my tire carrier bumper, since it gives me cargo room back::

I also have the same rear bumper and I love the room it gives me inside . I would give my stock rear bumper to you but your to far away . I believe it will be hard to find one with out a built-in receiver .

I have no experience with quadratec, but those bumpers can be had for cheaper cost then that. If I remember right, I got mine at Upull parts for $47 and that included the plastic piece that goes on top of the bumper and under the hatch seal for that finished look! It was also painted to match my XJ already!
