Default Rear Diff

He guys, I have a 2000 XJ Sport, I wanna chnge the Rear Diff fluid. I got the right stuff to do it, but how do you fill it, It has a drain hole with a rubber plug.

U can buy a small manual pump at just about any auto parts store, they really help.

I used a rubber hose to push the gear oil through. It was a pain in the a$$! Get the pump, it is worth the couple of dollars.

yea I have one of those, but do I just suck it out and fill it back up to the hole?

Take the bolts off the cover, drain, clean, put RTV silicon around the perimeter and bolt back up. Pumping the oil out wont get all the crap on the bottom, if u have never switched fluid, id pull the cover & do a full job. Not hard at all, just a little messy

i always pull the cover, theres no better way, also if its stock just jack the body up some and you should be able to fit the bottle in there and fill it up, if its lifted then you dont have to worry

agreed on pulling the cover off. That was you can get all the fluid out, spray everything down with brake cleaner, and inspect the gears for wear while you're at it.
