A LOT of grease there! Make sure the vent in the housing, the hose, and valve at the end of it are clear and working properly.

you were right, the vent hole on top of the axle was clogged up and the valve at the end of the hose aswell, poked it clear with a tiny screwdriver and shortened the hose 1/2 an inch cause it was torn where it meets the axle vent.

thanks marc

Might want to consider running that up into the engine compartment. The front axle breather is there. See in the shot where I circled. I did mine, bought the little top hat breather from Jeep, and have plans to do the same with my tranny and transfer case ones too.

there is a lot i want to do to this jeep but were only here limited time and it will be put back in storage for almost a year, ive did the necessary stuff.. the hose is just dangling around i figured were not going through deep water soon i guess i should tie wrap it to the top of the differential to have it a bit higher of the ground.

that cover pan with the drain plug seems handy, if i ever run into one i will keep it thanks

marc
