Rear disc brake conversion

Rear disc brake conversion
Hey I was looking to do the rear disc conversion with the grand cherokee rear brakes. I already read some of the other threads for this topic and have hopefully a simple question. I know you need the parts from a grand cherokee in the 95 to 98 year range but in those years does anyone know if they came with 2 different axles? (Like the cherokee has the dana and the C8.25.) If so does it make a difference which one I pull it off of and if it does, does anyone know how to identify the different types? Thanks for your time!

Thanks!!! that makes my life trying to find parts a whole lot easier. Another quick question tho. Im trying to get a price on new backing plates so I have a price comparison. Every part store I called told me I would have to go to the dealer or a JY. So I called the jeep dealer and the parts guy told my the backing plates are discontinued. And everytime I search grand cherokee rear backing plate on the net almost every website I get is the cherokee disc conversion description.(must be a popular mod lol) So does anyone know a website I could go to that sells the backing plates new. I figure there are more people then me that would want to know the price of new parts compared to used before they buy, so the info has to be out there somewhere. Thanks again everybody!!!

I was told that ford rear disk breaks will work. not sure what year but I think it was out of a crown vic or explorer with the 8.8. If someone knows more about the ford conversion I would greatly appreciate that info.
