I was able to remove the axle bracket bushings with a long chisel and replace the upper control arms. As it's an Arizona car there was no rust to speak of. I made a bushing install tool with a threaded rod, some washers, sockets and nuts that would fit between the spring and oil pan. The ball joint tool would not fit in that space. The only other alternative was to drop the axle. Tool worked good. Clunking is gone. As it's a '94 and the bushings have never been replaced I replaced the suspension arm bushings as well. Rock Auto had the best prices for all of the parts I needed. Took it in for an alignment just to be sure and it was real close to being good. I replaced the shocks also with Gabriel Ultimates. They advertised making it ride like original but seems to be a bit tight. Back on the road again. Thank you all for your input.
