I used to have the opposite problem. Mine wouldn't open.
It's possible the grease is old and is stiff in the cold. Dilute it with WD40 or similar light oil. When it warms up, get some of the spray white grease that is used on door hinges.

Maybe the body? I ran into this prob yesterday i was on uneven terrain and my jeep was flexing a bit. i had the rear open just hanging out in desert and i went too shut it and it would not shut! Unibodies i hear if you flex em real hard all the time everything begins to get real hard to open and close.

X2 on Twisted. Mine can hit the tail-light parked right.
I like spray grease. I can lube my hinges from across the street!
