Default rear sway bar

I hear nothing but positive things about taking the rear sway bar off a cherokee, but is there any kind of negative consequences if I do this this?

My rear sway bar has been off for about a month now. No noticable handling differences but a whole lot more articultion!

Removing the rear sway bar might cause a noticeable control difference at highway speeds or when there is a heavy load on the rear suspension (i.e. heavy trailer towing, cargo hauling, or having the rear seat filled). Other than that it shouldn't really do anything. Some of the Upcountry XJs came stock without them so it can't be too bad. I just stuck to leaving mine because I doubt I'll ever take mine to Moab lol

There is one draw back that can be attributed to towing. IF you pull a trailer that has any kind of real weight......1500+ you may notice a difference. Other wise....scrap it. Who needs extra weight?

I pull my 95 XJ with my 99 XJ I'm sure I'm pulling close to 5000lbs with the trailer and no rear sway bar and I haven't noticed anything!!!!!!!!!!!!! The reason I have no rear sway bar is it limits flex alot!!!! Even though my 99 is my dd it is sometimes wheeled after all it is on 36s. Every XJ I have had I have taken the rear sway bar off and never noticed any draw backs. Unless you don't like flex then its a horrible idea!!

Default Watch Tire Interference

Once upon a time a glassy eyed jeep nut put in some lift blocks, you know when you drop it down off the stands those sway bar ends are perfectly aligned with your inner sidewalls. Of course you are in such a rush for the test drive you don't do a thorough inspection of the setup. That will cost you two tires as that burning rubber smell is your swaybar doing some sidewall rain goove modification. The sway bar came out on that one, silver lining is after the anger and the crying there was now an opportunity for new bigger tires. Hence the cost was now up to 8 tires.
Two totally @$#@$ked, the two remainingoddball tires, I gave them to a poor underprivilaged chevy driver at work, my stupidity had now cost me dearly, but I consolled myself with the 33's. Remember to thoroughly inspect your work Never noticed any handling problems without the rear bar.

Yank it. My 98 Sport didn't come with one (or it at least appears that there was never one mounted).
