A Mechanic should be able to tell if low compression is from valves or rings did he test to see what is causing the low compression ?

Did they install the head for you ? Because when it is two cylinders next to each other it also can be a head gasket if the gasket was damaged when it was installed .the compression can leak to the next cylinder if the head gasket is not sealing .
