recommended brake line length
I'm aiming for 2.5 (max 3") lift in the rear and wondered what length i should get? I'm ordering a bunch of stuff from JO
Is 18" enough? How about the front? I got away with the stock lines on my tj by lowering them 3", which was very easy to do (lower bracket and hardline). Can i do the same for the front of my xj? I don't want to spend another $100 on lines if i don't really have to.
Thanks
Chris

as for the front, you will be ok until about 4" with just relocating the stock lines.

im willing to pay a fraction of the cost for a little less bling
chevy k-1500 lines give even more length and will bolt into xj's as well, for under 20 bucks each. i have seen them used with longarm setups drooped and at full lock and they still have plenty of slack in them.

Aren't the steel lines supposed to give a firmer pedal feel? I ripped off my TJ's rear rubber line years ago and boy was that a pita to fix on the trail (MUDDY TRAIL). I'll prob save a few and go with stock rubber.

could have just been stiffer from getting a fresh bleed in there. but rubber lines have the same beefyness as braided steel steel do, but a rubber casing as opposed to a bling casing

ive ran both, never noticed a difference in anything with steel braided. in fact i run rubbers now out of a 1500 chevy that are super long and theyre fine.
just sold my steel braided used for more than what i paid for my rubber lines new
