Default Recommended Recovery Gear List Please

What is the preferred list of recovery gear? I'm a DD/weekend warrior but the trails I take can get a bit overwhelming for the very capable but stock XJ. Oh and don't forget "never wheel alone."

I know I've seen it here previously and I appologize if I didn't search right, but I figure it is probably a good reminder/refresher and hopefully I'm not the only one who will benefit form this thread.

Thanks,
s

if you don't have a winch (like myself) how effective is a come along? I'm mostly on dirt roads and don't ever really do any honest 4 wheelin' (my xj is 2wd). I'm just wondering wht i would need or could use to get out of a road side ditch and alike...

a hi lift jack works like a come along and is safer
just need some straps long enough to get to a tree or something strong enough to pull you out

how does that work? i guess the tree goes between the jeep and the jack then the rope/strap loops onto the jack?

I say screw the come along and just get a winch and a land anchor! It's a lot pricier, but way cooler.

So, you're not man enough for straight up?!

But then.... you didn't have Coke on the list.

Disclaimer: The bottle of Jack is only for when you are stuck enough, that you can't drive out!
