Default Redline after rebuild 98 xj 4.0

Back story: Driving home from work and one of the freeze plugs began to leak and the jeep overheated. Enough to melt one of the pistons.

Towed it the rest of the way home and pulled the motor. Had it machined and rebuilt and threw it back in. Once all hooked back up it was time for the initial start. The engine immediately redlined. At first you could keep your hand over the throttle body to control the rpm. Replaced the idle air control, MAP, throttle body position sensor. Made sure that the intake and exhaust manifolds were placed correctly. Checked all vacuum hoses. Replaced PCM. Next step is smoke test.

Any recommendations? I keep thinking it must be electrical since its delivering the fuel to keep up but where on earth could the air be coming from. I've pulled the exhaust and intake several times in the past for replacing the exhaust manifold and replacing the freeze plugs and didn't run into a problem in the past.

Any feedback is much appreciated!
KCCO!

Your intake manifold is not fully seated to the head. It's hung up on one of the dowels and appears to be tight but it's not.

Is the vacuum line attached to the canister broken or the ball itself is damaged?

That wouldn't be a big enough leak to cause redlining.

The manifold is likely on the dowels but binding. We see it all the time.....

Not a simple answer butttttt.....

You already blew off the correct answer to your original issue:

You shouldn't seek others input if you are going to

What would cause the dump of fuel to keep up?

Any ideas on what would cause the dump of fuel to keep up with the air?

Which sensor sends that info? It occurs even with all of the sensors at the throttle body unplugged.

I'm not gonna be trolled.

We told you what it is. Keep screwing with it until you grenade the new engine for all I care.
