Default Removing door torx bolts ?

Trying to remove my doors during a rebuild.
Clearance is the main problem, I have a T40 torx socket for 3/8 drive ratchet, but don't have enough room for 1/2 the bolts.
Got all but two loosened,, those two will not budge.
Due to the "round heads, cant get vise grips on them.

Any Ideas??
Thanks,
Slack

Is there enough of the torx bit exposed to use a wrench on it, or is there no room to swing the wrench? I never tried removing the doors on mine.

I went through my fender with the door closed and a long extension. It only works if you don't have splash guards though. You can break them loose, then use the torx with the ratchet with the door open

Chop the torx bit or find a short version.

Lots of loud profane language and throwing of wrenches really helps.

Oh, and a long blade on a sawzall.

I just went through this. Them sons of b!@#$%'s are tough. Especially the lower hinge ones - i guess they get more moisture than the upper ones and seize up.

I used a torx bit like this, with a wrench on it.

I also had to get behind the bolts (though the speaker hole) and apply some heat. Then they gave up. Be careful not to strip the torx bolt heads.

I then got rid of the torx bolts for cap head bolts. Much easier in the future.

Remember to make some sharpie marks on the hinge/door body that will help you align the door back when reinstalling.

Easy squeezy. With a shizzle load of patience.

Breaker was 1/4" so just that bit shallower. It just fit. Even when bolt undone. Releasing door check first obviously helps!

Yeah. That's were the patience came in. Breaker good for cracking those tight threads but a ratchet and bit would have made the next bit a shorter process. 😁

Same trick works well on the oil filter adapter.

I used a spare 1 piece torx and ground 4 sides into it. I think I made it a 5/8 or 9/16. Then used an open end wrench.
