Hopefully I'll get my sensor on Tuesday, definitely keep us posted on and let us know if the o2 was the trick... also I'm extreme jealous you got a lift. My plan was to get my lift next month, but now that I'm getting married, lift is on hold.
I'm going to try to get the Jeep in the garage today and start working on it. I've got a slightly large list of things to fix around the house too so it might be a late night. I'll definitely report back with the results of the O2 sensor. I picked this one up at Advanced Auto for $20.

Yeah, my lift has been sitting in the garage for a week now. I've been waiting for my tires to ship before I started on it. My tires should be here Wednesday!! So hopefully I can start and finish the lift today and then have the tires on Wed evening or Thurs morning.

Now I really need to sell my Wrangler! I'm spending too much money that I don't have.

Lol, I hear ya o nthe too much money... I keep telling myself I will do small fixes, but this $40 here, $60 here is adding up. I should have just done the big projects haha. Well I should be able to do my mains cables and ground refreshing tonight/2morrow morning... Depending on when I get done 2morrow will depend on if I'm able to get to the o2 sensor. Hope all goes well for you!

....I just paid $20 for a used TPS at the JY instead of buying a new one on Ebay for $15. I didn't want to waste my time with junk...I guess "for the record" it might be nice to see the make and Part# of that 3 wire, $20 Titinia 02 sensor....

Don't get me wrong! I wish you the best....Ikd if you have that though!

I was wondering the same... Cause for me at NAPA the NGK is like $52 for a male and almost $70 for female... Unfortunatley I have no idea which one I need...and only one is avail at my store, so I gotta look first thing in the the morning so I know if they gotta call the warehouse for it... Any ideas if its male or female connector?

Yeah, I got that O2 sensor home and opened it and it was the generic single wire connector type. I returned it for the NTK 3 pin connector type for our vehicle, and they knocked $10 off the price, so I actually paid $54 for the O2.

I replaced it yesterday, and it didn't seem to make a whole lot fo difference. I still have the up and down idle. It may have smoothed out a bit but it's still there. I'm going to start chasing down vacuum and timing next.

I ran out of time to work on it because the lift. I managed to get the lift installed. On my test drive I noticed a clicking sound that only happens while in motion. My guess is the angle of the rear driveshaft. So back in the garage it goes. Going to remove the 1" longer shackle and add a TC drop. I went with the Rusty's 3" complete leaf pack, by the way.

You do know that timing is not adjustable, correct?

Have you done any of the tips in my "pink link" in my signature, along with checking for loose intake manifold bolts?

Ever adjust your TPS on the Engine side?

Yes, I've gone through quite a lot of your tips, ie, ground refreshing, contact cleaning, how to index. That's what I meant, I want to recheck my indexing on the timing.

I did check my manifold bolts while I was in there, all is nice and snug.

I'm going to use my propane torch to check for vacuum leaks.

Oh, I had the TPS adjustment on the list of things to check as well. I should have time to check a few of those things this evening after I correct my lift issues.

Thanks.

Be sure to do the sensor ground test as outlined in the tPS instructions. 87 has a C101 connector. absolutely do that. It's #2 in the "pink link".

Did cruiser s ground sensor testing and soldered my crimps, tps voltage had changed from .83 to .92, so I readjusted and also did all the electrical refreshing and replaced o2 sensor, a quick drive around the block and it seemed to be fixed. Had an almost stall in the beginning but it didnt happen again. Will drive it to work 2morrow to be sure.

Have you checked the bottom exhaust manifold bolts?

You can get to them from underneath the jeep.

They're a 9/16 bolt head and very difficult to get to with large arms, but with a swivel socket attachment It makes the job a lot easier.

Mine were loose and it made my renix run terrible until I tightened them all

Good luck with the diagnostics!

CF Mods...I'm getten' "re directed" to "life lock" add. I'd linem' up and shoot'm. Can't, there's just one.

Good idea. Repair is made easier by removing the air cleaner assembly.

Excellent news. I'm sure you'll keep us updated.

I'm glad to hear that the TPS adjustment worked for Jakers. I'm definitely going to make some time to do this. I had planned on this last night but I ran out of time.

And to answer the question above, I haven't rechecked the exhaust bolts. I'll get in there and do that also. I've got about 250 miles on the new motor now, so I really want to get in there an recheck and retorque everything.

In regards to Cruisers Renix Tips:
Looking at your list it seems like alot of stuff to do and they don't seem like important fixes. But after reading around on this forum (and doing the fixes myself) I can see how something as simple as just clenaing contacts can make a huge difference. It all takes time going through and doing all of the basic stuff but like you said I'm a VERY happy Jeep owner knowing that these things are being done. I think the most time consuming part of the splices was re-wrapping everything with electrical tape and split loom. I wasn't going to do the Renix tips because they seemed pretty insignificant but after going through the entire list I found some parts that needed to be replaced/repaired and the Jeep has since improved!
It is VERY important to go through all of his tips, message him if you have any questions he usually gets back within a few hours, I think the longest delay I had was overnight...

This wasn't directed directly to you bobblyx but more so every Renix user out there.
