My last line is just about the absolute truth - although I should probably modify it slightly to say "very little is impossible." Just about the only thing you really can't do in a conversion or upgrade would be violate the laws of physics or chemistry, which no amount of money can do at the moment...

Thank you Jamie57 for the compliments on the charger, and thanks everyone for your inputs. unfortunately i had to sell the Cherokee, my wife lost her job at the beginning of the summer and its starting to hit us hard, especialy with one kid in college and the other getting ready to graduate H.S.
before anyone asks, it would be a cold day in H...E...double hockey sticks before i sell the charger!!!! i can see where the optimum upgrade would be to go as new as possible, with all the wiring and controls to make it work and be efficient.
incidently jamie57, the charger is run by a 94 chevy LT1 computer, the opti spark has been fitted into a dodge magnum dissy, with a DELTEQ system tying in a caddy northstar ignition control module and coil packs. that is the original 1966 Polysherical 318, better known as a wide block, or semi hemi (66 was the last year for them). has a late model dodge 50mm 2bbl throttle body, on top of a modified weiand intake. she is punched .080 over, custom ground cam for EFI, the trans is a 727 torque flight, with red eagle clutches and steels, kevlar bands, summit 2k stall converter and a reverse pattern manual shift valve body. exhaust is 2.5" pipes performance "X" pipe system being fed by TTI Headers.
she runs pretty decent, still doing some tuning. hopefully next summer i will have the mass air hooked up and tuned. should get about 20mph with the 3 speed trans, better if i upgrade to an overdrive, which has been a thought.
i am planning on getting another jeep, they are just too much fun to play with!!! besides i would be able to do thing in a jeep that i cant do in the charger, like driving in the rain, or in the MUD for that fact!!!
thanks all kevin

Thanks Kevin. I remember that engine well. I had a 58 Fargo (Canadian Dodge) that had a transplanted poly 318 in it. Fastest pick up round here till I blew it up. Had a real 426 hemi for it but never got to put it in. Everything got stolen. Oh well ended up with a 69 440 6 pack Charger. It's a wonder I'm still alive with that one.
