Renix- idle oil pressure on factory gauge
Hey Renix guys, how does your stock oil gauge behave? I never paid attention, but mine doesn't really move until after the engine starts and oil pressure builds. I'd say it runs maybe a tad above 40 at 500rpm idle. I checked the gauge function by removing the wire connected to the sending unit and grounding it- the gauge reads "0". With it not connected or grounded, it stopped moving just past "80" IIRC.
I'm going to look at the wiring schematic because I thought it was supposed to move to high when the key was in the starting position and the engine is cranking. The temperature gauge does that, and by doing so I know it is working. I may just add a "T" to the pressure sending unit and add a dummy light sending unit and a red light somewhere.
