Renix mechanics recommendations?
I'm having fun troubleshooting, but I'm not having much luck getting this Jeep in DD status. Think I may need some help here.
Anyone got a suggestion or recommendation for a Raleigh area mechanic who's used to Renix engines? My regular mechanic isn't interested in working on an engine that doesn't have diagnostic codes. :-(

Your probably going to have to drive around and talk to your local mechanics. Make sure you ask alot of questions, it will help you decide if they know what theyre talkin about

Real mechanics don't need scanners!!!
Find a shop that swears by snap on. Snap on makes a scanner for Renix jeeps. It's more like freeze frame data though. Just about anything you want to know about the engine, it will tell you what it's doing. O2 sensor reading, EGR status, timing advance, it's pretty cool. But not the $3000 it takes to buy one of these
