Spray suspected vacuum leaks with TB cleaner. You'll know when you hit one.

I know when it's doing the issue, you can smell fuel out the exhaust but, it doesn't run pig rich. Maybe a bad fuel injector? I took a vacuum line, held one end up to my ear and the other on every injector. I heard tick tick tick on them all. I do notice a hiss coming around the area of the number 6 injector. I would think a vacuum leak would cause a lean condition though. Not a rich.
If you have a bad hiss/leak, say the #5 or #6 injector O ring, thence low vacuum, the MAP will interpret that as, "he's got his foot in it", and so dump gas. I think. Maybe.

Would be a shame is you ran out of silly putty and needed to silicone it.

My renix goes to high idle right away if I have a vac leak. I took my ex. manifold off to repair and when she was all back together and I fired it up, I left my brake boost hose off, jumped right up to about 1700rpm. Then I installed an oil catch can, and because ky hoses were so big it idled really high again...so I installed a little ball valve between the intake manifold and vc so I can actually adjust to a high idle if I like! Idles at about 500 right now...

Well it did it again this morning Ben though the tb is a tad open. It runs like its rich. Only seems to act up when it's below freezing, but it's random.

Again, the fix was to shut it off. Floor the pedal and restart

Could it be the air intake temp sensor?? It's test good but so did my coolant temp sensor when it was bad.

Well never mind again. It did the same thing to me with the sensor pulled. Now, it's hard to start period. You can smell gas too. I just redid the o rings on the fuel injectors. I think I'm going to have to re do them again. The number 6 injector makes a hiss sound where the injector goes into the engine. The hiss quiets down when you push the injector down with your finger. Could that be the issue to all my problems? The fountain of youth? Also, is there and easy way to replace those turds? I had a hell of a time getting the turds back in after fitting the new o rings on. A little bit of oil maybe?

I am warranting my fuel pressure regulator out this week. *i have to wait till Tuesday for Napa to get it in* I figure it's free so why not. I took the vac line off of the reg, the idle never changed. Usually when I take the vac line off of the reg, it'll idle up. I did get the hissing to stop by redoing the injector o rings! I know, I should test it with a fuel pressure tester, but we're moving in a month so cash is strapped even though it is a deposit. I feel confident about pulling the vac line to hear no jump in idle *yes I stop the vac with my finger.*

Hey there CPT...really this is a good test. I use little bursts of cheap wall mart starting fluid. Relying on what you can hear is iffy. Idk if the 02 could make it that rich. There IS a test for both that and the MAP function. After your troubles with the temp sensors IDK! Was me I might go that way if I knew the map was getting good vacuum and I knew there where no leaks.
