If it turns out to be the ECU, it could be from those crappy splices shorting out together. Fix those when you install your new TPS.

I was just talkin about splicing into the input voltage as they're both ~5v right?? In reality I was just freakin out about the fact that I have this new problem. Will fix it right with a,new ecu and tps :-/.... can anyone confirm the input voltage at the ecu side of the tps?

Yes, they both use a 5v reference.
