Repaired rear window washer tube.
96 XJ, starting to run out of things to fix so I thought I would look into the broken off tip for the washer hose. I took the part off of the Jeep but really didn't need to. Drilled the broken plastic hole a little bigger then glued in a small copper tube. Painted all the wiper arms and put things back together. I like to make it work if its on there.

I bought a new one for my '00. Thinking '97 and up is different then '96 and down. If it every breaks again I just figured I would drill the broken nozzle out making a hole a little bigger then the hose. Get a longer piece of hose that attaches to the wiper arm. Run it through the hole, splice it into the hose with one of those plastic pieces at the link below behind the tailgate, and a little RTV to seal up the hole I drilled. Guessing that would work.

Do not know if those plastic pieces are the right size. Just used that link to show a picture of what to use for a splice.

It's like I'm on the same brain wave as some of you...I keep seeing posts that are exactly what I'm thinking about.
Mines broken too. I drilled out the broken nozzle / plastic piece on the weekend while I had the drill out for something else.
I saw something online about using this fitting.
The idea is to drill out the old one, thread this into the hole. It's a 6-32 thread so I think people use the fitting to self tap; but you could tap the hole first. Thread in the fitting. Then add a new hose to the end and route the hose on the wiper arm.
This is what I was going to try. Anyone consider this or see an issue with this?

If you can drill it out and install a smaller tube without removing the piece then you don't need to remove the rear panel to reconnect the hose is a big plus. Those panels are brittle and things break.
