Ya, my appoligies folks. Didnt mean to come across as a dick. A little frustrated with this Jeep issue.
Im kind of lost without the right schematics. Cant trouble shoot the system, because Im not sure how the system flows. Does the CPS effect the signal to the coil? That was an original suspect, but I read thatit didnt play in this system.
Ya, the original engine ran before we pulled it. The rings where bad in the #1 clndr. We found a replacement engine (actually got to test run it in the donor truck before pulling it). I did go through the wiring harness and look for cuts, burned wires, ect. No problems.
Does anybody know a source for the schematics? Or does anybody know what the vltg into the coil should be? How about out of the coil?
Busted back, im searching your troubleshooting procedures.

The haynes book I have didnt have the ignition schematics.
Didnt do any real tests for voltage because I didnt have any specs. I did do a couple of continuity test and they ended up good. Coil to distributer wire, and the coil itself.

Check to see if you have voltage at the primary side of the coil, and check for a pulsing ground at the primary side of the coil while cranking. No voltage, look for the open in the circuit. No pulsing ground, check the crank sensor and the pick up coil.
