Replacement radiator incorrect fitment placing
Hello,
Has anyone else experienced this issue where the fittings are on opposite sides from the stock radiator? The part number is CSF brand RAD 2340

Possibly, because that seems to be the popular solution for fitting the more readily available LHD rads in RHD (postal) XJ's. The difficulty doing it this way round might be in losing all that extra length, if shortening them isn't practical.
Only OP can decide between doing the work & exchanging the rad.

the radiator cooler on the RHD jeeps is located on the "hot side" of the radiator, which is less than ideal
Some RHD owners have resorted to using LHD rads and replumbing with rubber hoses to reduce this "problem"
So you can do it either way.
If it is consistently above 80F where you are, I would bite the bullet and install a LHD rad

Kind of a long story but when hoisting out the motor my brother in law bashed the radiator as I was trying to remove it, he works at an auto parts and brought the wrong replacement home. So after xmas he will bring the correct one lol. I just put the old one back in tonight and fired it up for the first time since rebuilding, sounds great so far. Might have a RHD for sale cheap once he brings the replacement.

Anyway, it seems it's all academic now - although the info. may be useful to another.

Good point, one I'd not thought of. Makes you wonder why Jeep thought it a good idea.
The impression I got from posts I've seen is that it was born of necessity because RHD rads weren't generally available in the US, not that it matters why the conversion was done.

Excess heat greatly reduces the heat of any auto trans. The AW4 gets too hot under certain conditions

I ordered an lhd instead of a rhd. Will the rhd fan shroud and electric fan fit on a lhd radiator? I notice theres some resting tabs on the bottom of the radiator, which might be in a different position from the rhd radiator.

I think the slots at the bottom to locate the tabs on the shrouds are for both, certainly a RHD model has extras, which I just assumed were for the LHD shrouds.
