Head is on... Fel Pro gaskets for the win

I used apple cider vinegar to get the rust off all the intake/exhaust bolts. It's also good for catching and killing flies. Let them sit overnight, then rinse off with water... you'll be amazed.

Exhaust and intake is on

New Spectra radioator... it seems very nice. I like the center supports.

The air intake box makes a great tool holder, as does the battery tray.

And here is all all complete.

Nice work. I've also found the battery tray is an excellent place for tool as well.

Tony you blew up your engine at the same time that I bought my XJ. I must say yours looked 10 times better than mine for sure and I bet it didn't take 3 weeks till I got it to pass inspection either. Mine looked like crap, sounded the same, cracked windshield, ft windows didn't work, needed all new exhaust, T/C would not go into 4L to name a few lol.

Yours was the opposite except a slight knock, that was not so slight. Really a good job of your changing the engine out with photos to boot. The engine in mine sounded about like yours and I really wondered about it with 230,000 on it. But still going strong and no issues you never know.

We need to et together sometime and go wheel 'in.

For sure Fred... the Jeep could handle a few novice trails. Bring that winch for me. lol

I was pretty bummed when the engine blew, but it would probably would've went 250k if I had continued to *****foot it.... but thats never an option. Getting thrown in the fire is good experience though.

The engine is still running great... so now I'm on to the fun stuff.
