Replacing Headlights
Sorry for the very novice question here, but I've never done this on a Jeep so I'd like to get an idea and some pointers on the procedure before I do it. Driver's side headlight burned out, bought the new assembly/light, how do I install it?
Thanks, and yes, I did use the search function before posting this. Only saw upgrade threads.

Remove two screws of the side marker lens, remove bulb seat and set lens aside. Remove two screw from trim around headlite. Remove four screws from the chrome ring around the headlite. Head lite will now fall out, support it, still plug in back of headlite. Unplug, swap in new bulb, reassemble. Now the trim ring around the headlite is held by 4 screws, generally philips head, strip easy if screws are corroded. Spray screws prior to the service with oil penetrant. Consider changing out stock screws with some #8 stainless sheet metal screws, use a little anti sieze on your fasteners whenever servcing your jeep, treats yourself or the next owner nice in the future. Easy on the torque when reinstalling, don't strip the screw seats. If your trim ring around the headlite (4 screws) is stuck, add more penetrant oil. You can squeeze the bulb in and out if you can only get the top or bottom two screws out. A little carb cleaner on the contacts of the plug on back of the lite won't hurt.

neither. You have to remove the housing to change the bulb (not a problem stock due to the sealed beams - inconvenient if you convert them)

Following Peep's directions, you won't need to do any fancy twisting...it's all done while standing right in front of the vehicle. Very easy to do, should take about fifteen minutes provided you don't have to deal with any stripped screws/other PITA things.
