im guessing i have to remove my rear shocks so i can get the leafs low enough to get them off. i probally should of removed it from shackle instead of loosening my shackle bolt off the frame. now i got to the leaf off but the tension of the spring is holding it in place.

The rear Springs are pretty easy to get off. Don't overthink it really easy a couple 21mm bolts and the two u-bolts. Shouldn't really have to mess with the shackle part till you have to instal the new one.

You should have your vehicle on Jack stands prior to even messing with the leaf springs. The jack stands should be placed on the unibody.

Then you can have a floor jack under your Diff to move it up and down. If you are removing a leaf spring you need to have the vehicle supported somewhere other than the DIFF or you will probably die when it slips and falls on you!
