Reverse lights
My reverse lights have recently went out. What bulb number should i replace it with and what brand. I'm wanting the cheapest I can get but still good quality and brightness. Thanks

Agreed with Dumajones, if they both went out simultaneously I'd check to make sure you don't have a more serious issue. If you just have some terrible luck, I did a full LED swap and I've got these stuffed back there:
18 SMD LED Towers
They won't throw light like a true AUX reverse set up but they're bright and I like the light output.

There is a small amount of adjustment for the NSS. Give that a try and it it still doesn't work you may have to pull the NSS and clean it up a bit and re-grease it. Here's a write up on how to do it.

I think the v8's had a different transmission... probably the 44re instead of the AW4... so I wouldn't think it would work, but someone else will chime in and let you know for sure.
I'm pretty sure that was the tranny in them, so you could always go to an auto parts store web site, look at the NSS for both transmissions and see if they are the same part number.

Its been a while since I did this so im working off a not so clear memory. You can just unscrew the retaining bolts (there were either 1 or 3 I think) and then the NSS will twist slightly from side to side. Get someone to put the jeep in reverse while you slowly twist the NSS through its range of motion. If you're lucky, the reverse lights will come on. If not, I'd at least try to rebuild it before buying a new one. Mine was in VERY rough shape (cracks, pieces falling out) and i rebuilt it and its been working ever since.
