Does that include the track bar and steering stabilizer mounts (on the passenger side for LHD)?

Great thread! Probably now we know both the flattest state, and the runner up!

Dave51,

Since the axle housing is the same RHD & LHD wouldn't the bolt points be the same? It leads me to believe that I would just have to remove the RHD brackets and bolt up the LHD components from my 97. Am I wrong? I'm really not sure. Maybe I'm thinking its easier than it really is.

I do not know that they are the same, as you are exchanging a U for a J, and the part numbers are different:

4773 458 1 U
4773 429 1 J

so you gotta figure out why that is, and it may be because the track bar needs to parallel the drag link. Can't find an image of a RHD to confirm that, but with different part#s for the track bar and mount, that could be why. Not necessarily a deal-breaker, but might need some additional parts and welding.

BTW are the axle ratios the same?

This is the only image I can find. This RHD XJ has had extensive mods to the front suspension, but shows how the track bar is attached to the left side:

Man, thanks for digging deeper than I could have. It does look like the mod is over my head. Swapping axles is 1 thing but I'm no welder. The ratios are right (3.55). The price for the RHD D30 is good but not worth all the f-ing around to make it work. At least I've got time to troll Craigslist & some bone yards around if I continue the conversion route. Might try to find an XJ that needs the aw4 in my garage. The lunchbox locker idea is the way I'm leaning towards right now. Again, thank you all for your input.
