Default Riddle Me this Brains Trust

Greetings I have a question?
I have always led to believe that the Sport sat higher than the Limited?
I have a 99 Sport and a 96 Limited if you put them side by side the roof on the Limited is higher?
And yes I have measured from the center of the wheel to wheel arch and the Limited is bigger?
Both are on stock suspension I did change the shocks on both same brand on both The 96 Limited has a factory alloy bar and tow bar it also has yellow coils?
I often wondered if there was a factory tow package with a factory lift?
Another funny thing is they are chalk and cheese to drive? The 99 Sport is like a go cart bumpy and twitchy in the steering where as the 96 Limited which has twice the kilometers on the clock drives like a Limo on or off road ...............
Any Ideas

I’d be interested in seeing what options, or how they were configured for the Australian XJ’s.

I believe both Limited and Sports had 1" factory spring lifts

( but I could be wrong)

a 2" aftermarket lift is very common here, I have one.

In Australia, thats the highest you can go (legally) without an Engineers Certificate, and one size tyre up from the maximum spec, I have 255/70/16

Its a good combo, and gives you just enough extra height for anything sensible

Plenty of guys running around with higher lifts and bigger tyres, and no Certificate, but if you have a smash, the Insurance companies will **** your ****

I have never heard that.
My 96 sport suspension is sagging much worse than my 96 SE so I wouldn't be able to tell.
