What is your KPH / Kilometers Per Hour when you drive on the Strada Regionale & Strade Statali? Are you in 5th gear? What is your engine RPM at that speed?

fuel consumption is not a problem...... I use it very little, the problem is that I have to set off in second gear, because first gear is too short and on hills if I go into third gear the engine screams, if I put the fourth, it goes slow...... it starts again after a while...... it doesn't go like this...... I was thinking of a 3:73

There's the problem.
The 4.0 is not a diesel engine.
It's not an old tractor engine.
It's not a truck engine.
It's heritage is a CAR engine from it's conception.
It is not designed to be driven like you are driving it.
Here's an example of what that engine was designed to do.
Let's say your Jeep had an automatic transmission. You put the gas pedal to the floor to enter a highway and get up to speed.
You know what RPM the engine will be turning when the transmission shifts to the next gear?
And this is per the factory design? 4,800 RPM!!!!
The 4.0 is designed for that use.
I've been driving them since 1987 as a Service Manager at a Jeep dealership.
I have 4.0s with well over 200,000 miles on them that have been driven that way. So do many others.
Go drive it!!
I also have Alfa Romeos by the way.
