ring and pinion question
does anyone know how to tell which gear ratio you have in your diffs? do you count the teeth on the gears or what. i put my ox locker in over the past few weekends and i had to have my ring gear machined down to fit in. i know it sounds wierd but thats what had to happen. can anyone shed some light on my situation? thanks

if you needed to trim your friggin ring gear you got the wrong locker for your gearset
there are many ways you can check what gears you have
turn the pinion and count how many times it turns for the tire to make a complete rotation
roughly 3.5 turns= 3.55
roughtly 4.5 turns= 4.56's
but if you needed to trim your ring gear, you probably have a low gears locker and high r&p gears
and i would never run what you are. less thread engagement in the ring gear bolts.
