Default Strange sound coming from engine bay '99 XJ Sport

There's a intermittent sound coming from the engine bay. It doesn't seem to change cadence even while hitting the accelerator.
As soon as I can get my wife outside I'm going to see if I can record it idling and while ramping up the rpms.
But between now and then do any of you have any ideas of what's going on?
Thanks
Brawny

Edit: more info I just remembered.
The fan was hitting the crankshaft pulley so I loosened the belt to see if I could get any wiggle on the fan blade and I couldn't everything seemed to be pretty solid. anyway I just ended up loosening the belt so it wasn't cranked down so hard. The fan does not hit the pulley anymore but I'm wondering if that might be where the sound is coming from. I could not physically wiggle the fan blade around at all.

Edit again: I'm having a hard time linking to the YouTube video. My apologies. but anyway I'm beginning to think that something is loose, but I can't quite pinpoint it.

I was about to say your fan clutch is locked up, but it seems like you already have it figured out!

No, not locked up.
Any more guesses?

Now that I've seen the video, it sounds like an exhaust leak. Probably a cracked manifold.

Well the fan should not be able to hit the pulley so something's amiss there.

Try removing the belt completely and see if the noise goes away.

I know I have a leak and I told my wife this was my guess.
I'll have the muffler shop take a look.
Thanks

Once I loosened the belt the fan seems ok, but I'll be sure to keep an eye on it. I really think the belt was just overtightened.

Agreed
The fan should not be hitting ANYTHING.
If it does, don't take it for a drive until you worked out why and corrected the issue.

Unless you like surprises under the hood sooner than later. With a lot of noise.

Well, I found out why the fan was hitting the crankshaft pulley.
The crankshaft pulley backed off, thankfully while still in the garage and not on the road.
I've never heard of such, I'm going to read into it, but do any of y'all have some advice? It looks like the pulley needs to be pressed on.

It's really common. Parts stores rent the kit that you need to press it on. Use a steering wheel puller to get it off, do NOT use the pulley bolt to press it on. No matter how tempting.

Can I do it without removing the radiator? I don't want to remove the radiator unless it's absolutely necessary. Although it's due for a good flushing so . . .

I didn't pull my radiator when mine broke. Unfortunately, the only parts store near me didn't have that tool so I had to make one.

Just to be sure, has the pulley come away from the crank or has the pulley started to separate? There is a metal center, rubber divider then metal outer. If it's started to separate you need a new pulley.

Don't push pulleys that have started shifting or moving apart, back on. Unless you're in the middle of nowhere, which you are most likely not. Or if you wish to be doing this till it completely fails, somewhere along the highway, at night, in the rain,
Replace the whole pulley
With crankshaft pulley, do you mean the harmonic balancer?
