Gee willikers! The internet tells me that mercury is bad for me, I should put that in my cereal just to spite those anonymous know-it alls! My grandad used to play with mercury all the time and it took him at least YEARS to die! Screw them with their scientific data, we don't need that!

Salad, don't waist your energy mate, I'd say (although, you made me consider about adding that mercury! Who knows it might do something good, before it does bad lol.
There is a lot of love in this thread and I'm sure there will be more. But hey, maybe I'm confused, like hankthetank apparently thinks. He mentioned something regarding coming out, I think he is on the wrong forum.
Fram and oil threads, always a recurrent pleasant therapeutic session for some to vent a little anger.

The issue with Fram seems to center around the anti-drainback valve, which is particularly important in the 4.0.
Fram has changed hands a couple of times now, they went through a period where their QC was really, really bad. You see a lot of filters from that time period cut apart online. The orange can with bedliner seemed to be consistently poorly constructed, their higher priced lines were considerably better, but inconsistent.
I was watching a video of their current filter testing setup and it seems pretty good. I'm curious whether their current filters are competitive now. Thing is, for the same money I can buy a filter where I"m not left guessing whether the QC has improved or not, lol. I'm not much of a gambler.
