Default Rough cold start, idles rough when warm

I think I have exhausted all options and would appreciate any other thoughts.

My 98 xj will idle very rough when it is cold. Almost dies, then once it warms up, idles & drives great.

Also, once it warms up, if I shut it off, after 15 mins, it will start the first time, die, and crank but not start til it cools down a bit.

The other day, it was warm, and idling for about 3-4 mins. Began to stall, and was about to die, when I opened the hood, and in about a minute, it began to idle smooth again.

I have changed the CPS, TPS, Coil, seafoamed, checked the IAC, checked fuel pressure, checked plugs, cleaned the TB, shielded injector #3...

I'm thinking maybe I have a faulty CPS.

Any other thoughts guys?

How do you get around? Wait til it cools before driving it again?

It is not common, but the "camshaft position sensor" inside of the distributor can suffer from thermal (heat related) failure.

I just keep starting it and hit the gas to keep the Rpms up then it will go back to normal

Ok, I will try that next.

Anything that could be immediately affected by the cool air once I opened the hood? I thought that was odd and was able to replicate the same stalling/fix several times.

Mine will not even let me do that. Once it starts idling rough, I can floor it, and it will not make any difference. Just sputter and die.
