Rough Country 3" what size tires and a few Q's
Alright guys i've got a 96 cherokee 2WD with about 238k on the clock. I was looking at the RC 3" kit with out the control arms for $255. With that kit would i be able to run a 31" tire without rubbing? The rims i have are the Canyons from a 2003 Wrangler. A 31 should fit on those but would i rub on the lower control arm at full lock? If it rubs, I was thinking about just putting in a set of WJ lower control arms. Can i put the Lower control arm only and not have to put the Upper? I don't "WHEEL" per say in my jeep it's a daily driver, but we have lots of dirt roads and and lots of crappy 60 year old roads that haven't been maintained.
Oh and if you have pics of the Canyons painted black post them up i want to see what they look like painted.
Thanks for the responses guys I'll post up picks of the Jeep tomorrow. I'll have some more questions no doubt but these are it for now.

i have the same kit and i just added a 1in spacer up front for just a little more lift. im running 30x9.50 on some eagle alloy 15x8 that have a pretty good amount of backspacing, and i get close to rubbing the control arm on full lock. so i would have to say you probley would rub. i havent wheeled with mine since the lift but i think the 30s would rub when flexed but just a daily id say you could probley clear 33s if you wanted to.

So then i should be fine with a 31". Yeah i don't take it out and mud or crawl with it. It's good to know that if i need to get over something i will be able to tho.

I'm running a Zone Offroad 3 inch lift and I've had no problem clearing my new
31/10.5 R15 BFG All Terrains. The only thing I had to do to clear them was I had to trim a little off the inside of the fender flares with a utility knife which took me 5 minutes to do. The reason I had to do it was because the front tires would rub when i'd back out of my driveway. Before I got my new tires two weeks ago, I was thinking about moving up to a set of 32s with a little more trimming. With 31s and a 3 inch lift you wont have any trouble turning, my wheels can turn all the way and they wont rub on the control arms. I have no clue about 32s though since they're wider lol

Well i don't really want it to look like a 4x4 mud truck type thing. I'm more of the 2wd baja style look. I can't photo shop so i can't put my ideas on a picture to see if they will work or not. Luckily i went to school for paint and body so i can picture it in my head and still get pretty close to it when the real parts go on. I liked the look of the flat fender flares but $400 bucks and still have to cut the body to get them to fit is a little deterrent. I'm lazy i don't want to cut lol.
